About US:
Makerere University,
Kampala is Uganda’s largest and oldest institution of higher
learning, first established as a technical school in 1922. It became
an independent national university in 1970. Today, Makerere University is
composed of nine colleges and one school offering programmes for about 36,000
undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·       
Dust and
shelve reading materials and ensure that all reading materials are kept clean
and tidy.
·       
Shelve
and re-shelve books and other materials.
·       
Ensure
only eligible Library users come into the Library.
·       
Ensure
security of the Library stock.
·       
Perform
any other official duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·       
The
Library Assistant should hold a Certificate in Library and Information Science.
·       
A
minimum of two years working experience in an institutional/School Library.
·       
Must be
proficient in using relevant computer packages.
·       
Should have
good communication and interpersonal skills.
·       
Should
be a person of high integrity.
·       
Age
Limit:
Below 40 years
