Makerere University,
Kampala is Uganda’s largest and oldest institution of higher
learning, first established as a technical school in 1922. It became
an independent national university in 1970. Today, Makerere University is
composed of nine colleges and one school offering programmes for about 36,000
undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·       
Ensure
that dental equipment is running smoothly.

·       
Handle
technical faults regarding dental equipment.

·       
Give
user support for all dental equipment.

·       
Responsible
for checking and installing all machine parts as required.

·       
In
charge of maintenance/servicing of dental equipment.

·       
Keep an
inventory of all equipment.

·       
Liaise
with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or
maintenance.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The Dental
Technician should hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering

·       
A
Certificate in Dental Equipment Engineering

·       
Three
(3) years of relevant work experience

·       
Knowledge
about equipment and facilities

·       
A team
player with good interpersonal relations

·       
Ability
to communicate precisely and concisely

·       
Analytical
skills

·       
Proficiency
in using machines and computers

·       
Age
Limit: Below 50 years
