Services is implementing the USAID-funded Uganda Sanitation for Health
Activity. The project works to increase household access to sanitation and
water services and improved health through hygiene behavior change campaigns in
homes, schools and health facilities in up to 25 districts in Uganda.
About the Project:
TETRA TECH International Services is recruiting highly
qualified candidates for the USAID-funded Uganda Sanitation for Health
Activity. The project works to increase household access to sanitation
and water services and improve health through hygiene behavior change campaigns
in homes, schools and health facilities in up to 25 districts in Uganda. The
ability to work in a multi-cultural, multiethnic environment with sensitivity
and respect for diversity and gender are essential requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
degree in civil engineering or water engineering from a recognized university.
·
Master’s degree is a plus.
·
At least seven years of professional experience
in design, construction and/or supervision of rural and peri-urban water supply
infrastructure.
·
Registration and licensure as a professional
engineer in Uganda is an added advantage
·
u Practical field-level experience with water
service delivery mechanisms: Water and Sanitation Development Facilities,
Umbrella Authorities, NWSC Competency with pipeline design and drafting
software (e.g. EPANET)
·
Strong grasp of the principles and procedures
specified in the 2013 Water Supply
·
Design Manual published by the Ministry of Water
and Environment (MWE).
·
Excellent planning skills using MS Project and
other office software
·
Experience in design and construction
supervision of piped water supply systems, coordination, monitoring and evaluation
of WASH projects, with an emphasis on community and institutional Water supply
·
Experience working with District Water Officers,
Umbrella Authorities or Water and Sanitation Development Facilities
·
Excellent written and verbal communication in
English Integrity and pride in performance.
·
Flexibility and willingness to fulfill any tasks
as required to keep USHA and RI-USAID collaboration performing at a high level
