Job Summary:  The
Senior Manager Human Resource Services is responsible for leading the Human
Resource Services Section by managing a range of activities related to welfare,
labour and industrial relations for employees and contractors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·      
Oversee
legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing
legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
·      
Manage
the implementation and application of disciplinary and grievance procedures and
policies.
·      
Maintain
and update all labour related policies and procedures, ensuring the enforcement
and adherence of these policies and procedures by advising and monitoring
management and staff.
·      
Partner
with Legal and Integrity departments as needed/ required.
·      
Receive
and resolve employee inquiries and serve as an initial point of contact.
·      
Manage
all contracted labour in the business through the various account managers
·      
Custodian
of HR information and records management to drive confidentiality and
departmental security at all times
·      
Generate
HR reports and information dissemination through frequent communication to key
stakeholders.
·      
Oversee
and represent Umeme before workplace relations tribunals on matters such as
agreements, disputes and termination of employment
·      
Maintain
and update all labour related policies and procedures, ensuring the enforcement
and adherence of these policies and procedures by advising and monitoring
management and staff
·      
Drive
the maintenance, improvement and enforcement of streamlined HR Processes to
ensure a world-class experience for both internal and external Stake holders.
·      
Ensure
delivery of exceptional HR service to the business including medical insurance,
staff welfare, contracts management among others



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·      
The
ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management,
Organizational and social psychology, Management or Social Sciences
·      
Postgraduate
qualification in Human Resource or management would be an added advantage.
·      
At
least 8 years working experience four (4) of which should have been at Middle
and Senior level management.
·      
Understanding
of industrial relations and trade union management in Uganda
·      
Skilled
in managing contracted labour services and their SLA’s
·      
Knowledgeable
in leading and managing collective bargaining negotiations.
·      
Understanding
of HR Budgeting and budgeting processes in large commercial enterprises
·      
Understanding
and experience in Business reporting.
·      
Strong
relational and networking skills.
·      
Personal
integrity and respect for confidential information.
·      
Understanding
of labour laws, various regulations and statutory law in Uganda.
