commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the commercial banks licensed by the
Bank of Uganda, the central bank and national banking regulator
Job Summary:   Service
of court process, attendance at land and companies’ registries, data inputting,
filing court and statutory documents/returns, maintaining internal filing
system, and any legal related support functions in accordance with the bank
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·       Filing of court related documents, proper
service delivery of court process and other legal correspondence on clients,
counter parties or law firms as needed.
·       Prepare summons, obtaining hearing notices
and initiating action for court issuance of hearing notices to ensure progress
on case files and good management of the Bank’s case inventory.
·       Create and maintain diaries/journals on the
respective court files and their corresponding advocates fees/disbursements
·       Create and update files for other non-court
matters for example debt collection, notices of intention to sue and maintain
journals on the respective files.
·       Receive, register and store securely all
incoming land titles from branches and contracted law firms.
·       Maintenance of an organized filing system
that is opening, updating and actioning court case files and obtaining of
copies of pleadings from external counsel.
·       Maintain and update all electronic and manual
registers in the department.
·       Provide office support and perform
administrative duties

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·       The ideal applicant must hold a Diploma in
law (LDC). A degree in any field will be an added advantage.
·       At least four years’ experience in a
reputable and busy law firm with knowledge and exposure to court processes and
systems of various government registries
·       Planning and Organizing including maintaining
integrity of the records/file registry.
·       Report writing and computer proficiency in
Ms. Word and Excel Programs
·        Agile,
self-driven and a good team player
