EMERGENCY Life
Support for Civilian War Victims (EMERGENCY) is an independent Italian
organization established in 1994 to offer high-quality, free medical and
surgical care to victims of war, landmines and poverty. It promotes a culture
of peace, solidarity and respect for human rights. In cooperation with Ministry
of Health, EMERGENCY has commencing its activities in Uganda which consist in
managing the Centre of Excellence in Paediatric Surgery in Entebbe. 
The kitchen of the
hospital will serve around 400 persons a day, including patients, relatives and
Emergency staff. Good quality and on-time breakfast, lunch and dinner must be
guaranteed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Supervision
and coordination of the activity of the kitchen, both daily and long-term
planning.

·       
The food
safety.

·       
Overseeing
the kitchen staff, both cooks and supporting staff and hold the team
accountable.

·       
The
hygiene of the place, the tools and the cookware.

·       
Control,
maintain and manage kitchen inventories, food supplies and in and out flow,
including orders according to the stock, the consumption and the timing.

·       
Implement
high knowledge of food preparation procedures.

·       
Monitor/manage
food waste daily and promote the use of food surpluses and leftovers.

·       
Implement
control of quality.

·       
Support
and facilitate cost control.

·       
Inspect
and ensure best functioning and maintenance of all kitchen.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant
should hold a diploma in Kitchen and Catering operations

·       
Five years
of experience in similar jobs and similar places in terms of size

·       
Languages: Fluent written and spoken English

Working Conditions

Contract of employment: 12 months contract (6 months’ probation
period) with possible extension

Basic Salary: According to EMERGENCY salary scale

Holidays and leaves: according to the current law.

·       
Working place: Entebbe

·       
Starting date: Beginning 2020 or earlier if required
