EMERGENCY Life
Support for Civilian War Victims (EMERGENCY) is an independent Italian
organization established in 1994 to offer high-quality, free medical and
surgical care to victims of war, landmines and poverty. It promotes a culture
of peace, solidarity and respect for human rights. In cooperation with Ministry
of Health, EMERGENCY has commencing its activities in Uganda which consist in
managing the Centre of Excellence in Pediatric Surgery in Entebbe. The
technical department of the hospital will maintain the electrical system of the
facility, whose capacity is 70 beds with 3 Operation Theatres and 350 staff. A
proper function of the electrical system must be guaranteed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Install,
repair, adjust and service electric motors, water pumps, boilers, switchgear
and electric control devices.

·       
Perform
routine maintenance of all types of electrical devices, control devices,
programmable logic controllers, input and output modules.

·       
Periodically
inspect and report on any defects or failures of electrical and control systems
or part of.

·       
Review
drawings and documentation for modifications and/or additions.

·       
Properly
maintain the working tools and request for substitution when necessary

·       
Read
technical diagrams and drawings either electrical or mechanical and operating
and maintenance manuals.

·       
General
electrical maintenance of water system, air conditioning, medical gasses, LPG,
oil, firefighting, waste waters system.

·       
Perform
any troubleshoot of power, control and data systems issues.

·       
Install,
maintain, repair and replace electrical equipment, control devices and
fixtures.

·       
Check
the process parameters and performs inspections of any electrical system and
write reports.

·       
Schedule
and oversees other workers.

·       
Collaborate
with mechanics, plumbers and any other department.

·       
Follow
health and safety standards.

·       
Wear
appropriate safety equipment.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
At least
five years of experience in similar jobs and similar places in terms of size

·       
Languages:
Fluent written and spoken English

Working Conditions

Contract of employment: 12 months contract (6 months’ probation
period) with possible extension

Basic Salary: According to EMERGENCY salary scale

Holidays and leaves: according to the current law.

Working place: Entebbe

·       
Starting date: Beginning
of March 2020 or earlier if required.
