Job Summary:    The Officer Applications Support / Systems
Administrator will co-ordinate and provide support for IT applications activities
and to maintain the integrity of the Banks application Systems. To also provide
end user support services to Core Systems and peripheral Applications. To
ensure that systems Application support is performed in compliance with
standards, procedures, security requirements and service level agreements to
achieve a high degree of availability. The incumbent will be responsible for
the day to day administrative duties of the IT data centre operations. To
uphold confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Information
Technology environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Operates
all data centre systems and applications

·       
Performs
troubleshooting and provision of solutions to internal customers as required.

·       
Daily
Data Processing on Finacle Core and its peripheral products.

·       
Running
backups for critical systems

·       
Escalate
issues for resolution as per the escalation matrix.

·       
Proactive
monitoring  and actioning of alerts from
ITM

·       
Ensure a
smooth Daily Data Processing on Finacle and its Peripheral products

·       
Submit
returns and daily reports to Johannesburg.

·       
Perform
system administration /system security maintenance activities.

·       
Stand in
for the Team Leader if unavailable

·       
Perform
daily system backups

·       
Restore
and test backups at the DR site

·       
Transportation
of tapes to the DR site

·       
Participate
in the proper running of the Disaster recovery site.

·       
Answer
all calls into the data centre at all times

·       
Provision
of timely solutions to issues raised within issues tracker

·       
Attend
production meetings during your shift

·       
Attend
to calls during the time service desk team is out of office

·       
Attend
to Infrastructure issues when the team is not in office

·       
Compliance
to audit requirements

·       
Monitoring
of systems using the ITM tool

·       
Any
other duties assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal applicant for the Stanbic Bank Officer Applications Support / Systems
Administrator job must hold a Degree in a computer related field.

·       
Extensive
general technical knowledge of information technology infrastructure.

·       
Advanced
knowledge in managing relational databases (Oracle)

·       
Advanced
proficiency in oracle sql language

·       
Ability
to interpret complex data into meaningful information

·       
Finacle
core administration skills

·       
Good
knowledge on the AIX unix environment

·       
Programing
skills is an added advantage

·       
Good
communication skills

·       
System
Administration Skills

·       
Active
Directory Skills

·       
Demonstrable
good track record and integrity.

·       
Good
understanding of the current state and strategic direction of IT
Infrastructure.

·       
Strong
understanding of the business climate and technology needs in the global
enterprise.
