restores dignity to them by providing holistically for their physical,
spiritual and emotional needs. Watoto has operations in Kampala, Wakiso, Mpigi
and Gulu.

Job Summary:   The Child
Development Officer will cater for Early Childhood Development needs and
support Mothers in their role to train children in moral conduct.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
To guide
and advise village management on the best practises to promote discipline of
Children.

·       
To
advise mothers on how best to discipline their children as informed by the
Child Protection Policy and reports.

·       
To
supervise and guide on the correction activities of children on suspension from
school and empower disciplinary committees. Support with the reintegration of
children who return from suspension.

·       
To
provide the homes office and WISE with updated records regarding children’s
discipline.

·       
To
conduct orientation to new children in the homes.

·       
To
implement, monitor and assess Early Childhood Development programs, activities
and initiative.

·       
To make
follow ups on Children remanded in government facilities or other institutions
(police, court, prison, LCs, external schools, Hospitals) on discipline
grounds.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the Watoto Child Development Officer job opportunity should hold
at least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.

·       
At least
two years’ experience working with children in a similar role and a busy
organisation.

·       
Good
inter-personal skills and ability to relate well to children of all ages.

·       
Passionate
about children’s welfare with ability to work effectively within a team
environment.

·       
Commitment
to working within standardized guidelines.

·       
High
level of motivation and initiative and strive for a high standard of practice.
