About US:

The National Social
Security Fund (NSSF) is a Provident Fund mandated to provide social security to
its members as prescribed by law under CAP 222 (Laws of Uganda) through
efficient management of members’ contributions. The NSSF asset base is
currently over Ugx. 9.8  trillion, making the Fund one of the largest
players in Uganda’s economy.

Job Summary:  The NSSF Staff Sacco Administrator will mainly
process SACCO products for the members, update and reconcile member statements,
continuous assessment of existing SACCO products, creation of new products,
continuous improvement of SACCO processes to remove redundancies, member
recruitment and retention, continuous sensitization of members about NSSF Staff
SACCO products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Supervise
the SACCO staff

·       
Receive
and review all member loan applications.

·       
Follow
up with the Loans Committee for timely processing of loans.

·       
Track
the performance returns of the NSSF SACCO Unit trusts.

·       
Review
loan application for onward consideration by the Loans Committee.

·       
Process
member payments within the agreed Turn Around Time.

·       
Post and
Update transactions in the Financial System within agreed timelines

·       
Generate
new products and assess performance of existing SACCO products

·       
Payment
of Supplier Invoices, allowances and other Internal Payments using the Bank
Online Platforms.

·       
Monitor
Timely Payment of Investments. Process Investments on a timely basis

·       
Prepare
Monthly financial reports and operations performance reports.

·       
Review
monthly expenditure and recommend areas where savings can be made.

·       
Monitor
and manage the process of retrieval and archival of the SACCO Records

·       
Carry
out Bank agency roles of delivering bank correspondences and collection of cash
from the Banks.

·       
Design
training programs and carry out trainings to Members on SACCO processes and
products

·       
Generate
monthly / periodical statutory returns (Taxes, NSSF, Regulatory etc…)

·       
File and
Pay the taxes and NSSF returns.

·       
Prepare
end of period adjustments: accruals for provisions for unbilled monthly
expenses and amortization of prepayments

·       
Reconciliation
of the member’s accounts.

·       
Monitoring
and updating member’s statements

·       
Provide
information to both external and internal auditors

·       
Compile
and issue withholding tax credit certificates to suppliers

·       
Organise
SACCO Committee meeting and follow up on agreed upon actions

·       
Work
with the governing Authority to ensure the SACCO operations are done within the
law

·       
Plan and
organise the SACCO AGM

·       
Plan and
Organise SACCO Committee meetings

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) NSSF Staff Sacco Administrator
job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business courses like Bachelor of Commerce
and a professional course in accounting like ACCA/CPA.

Two to
three years of work experience in Finance Department with a Large Institution.

·
