Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       Lead the review of previous IMPACT training
and learning methodology and incorporate make recommendations for changes to
the 2020 training.

·       Review pre-course material and make
recommendations for modification for 2020 training.

·       Provide recommendations for pre and post
course testing ensuring that teaching/learning process to assess candidate
capacities are met.

·       Create clear session plans with objectives
and notes for content delivery for all sessions and support the creation of
simplified lesson plans for all kiosks. 

·       Update the facilitator handbook for all
sessions and exercises that clearly link learning objectives to tasks and
overall outcomes.

·       Review the simulation and recommend
improvements to ensure that there are clear links between all session and kiosk
learning objectives. 

·       Assist in the selection of candidates for the
training.

·       Facilitate the one-week training including
on-site support.

·       Create post training report with
recommendations for modification for 2021 IMPACT.

·       Integrate new materials on information
management into other OCHA training and induction modules, including CAIM,
ATAHS, UNDAC, COSP, PREP and HCFP

·       Support other training activities in the
section and the branch.

·       Support in the development of a lighter
version of the training that can be conducted by 2-4 facilitators and can be
translated into French and Spanish.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate for the United Nations
Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Training Officer job opportunity should
hold an advanced University degree in adult learning, education, information
management, social science or similar field.

·       First-level University degree with additional
two (2) years of relevant experience can be accepted in lieu of an Advanced
University degree.

·       At least five (5) years of experience in the
development, implementation and facilitation of adult learning
programs/trainings.

·       Demonstrated experience in training and
development including knowledge of adult learning theories and methods.

·       Experience in designing, monitoring and
coordinating training including program planning, development and review. 

·       Experience working with the humanitarian
emergency or development sector, or other relevant international
experience. 

·       Experience in disaster management,
humanitarian assistance or international development is desirable. 

·       Experience in simulation-based learning
methods is desirable.

·       Understanding of the work of the UN agencies
and the practical considerations of field deployments is desirable. 

·       Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.   Knowledge of other UN language desirable.
