DFCU Bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a
variety of innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the
Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the
Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the
name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring
brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as
equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its
objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs
and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending
institutions.

                               

Job Summary:  The Talent Acquisition Manager will be
responsible for the development and execution of the recruitment plan in terms
of sourcing, screening, assessment, selection and onboarding of the right
talent that matches the dynamic business needs and the Bank’s manpower plan
while ensuring optimal staffing levels in the Bank. The role is also
responsible for overall accountability for the quality of talent acquired and
for conducting and analysing results of exit interviews to identify areas of
improvement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Understand business needs and talent gaps, short
and long term, and engage functional heads and (using tools such as succession
plans, annual resource plans, retirement or turnover indicators, etc.) to
create short and long term plans to fill the gaps and ensure we have the
talent/capabilities to drive strategy and achieve business plans.

·       
Maintain recruiting reports and dashboards to
track and communicate metrics to the business.

·       
Cultivate and promote company branding
internally and externally to attract top future talent:

·       
Lead university/ campus recruitment, focusing on
universities with specialized programs, to identify and establish strong
relationships with potential candidates.

·       
Create and oversee internship program for the
Bank to provide an engaging and innovative experience for students through
brand induction, strategic workshops, and career advising.

·       
Increase brand awareness by building and
maintaining relationships with external organizations and social media
platforms.

·       
Design roll out and review resourcing processes
to build a strong employer brand.

·       
Provide the organization with the best practice,
external benchmarks, and innovative solutions gained by networking through
industry group & event participation, to college recruitment, agency
relationships, etc., to make sure dfcu has the best approach to winning top
talent.

·       
Review and put in place industry leading,
reputable, and scalable tools and processes; testing and trying new ideas as
often as possible.

·       
Comply with the dfcu talent acquisition
policies, processes, and tools in line with employment legislation.

·       
Provide recruitment coaching and learning opportunities
to hiring managers.

·       
Create an exceptional candidate experience that
represents dfcu Bank employee experience.

·       
Support the business to define a meaningful
Employee Value Proposition into the recruiting processes, language, tools,
events and social media strategies.

·       
Involvement in talent mapping as part of career
development and internal mobility.

·       
Manage relationship with external recruiting
agencies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The ideal applicant for the DFCU Bank Talent
Acquisition Manager job must hold a Degree level education preferably in Social
Sciences (BA Sociology, BBA, BA Social Policy, BA SWSA).

·       
Postgraduate or Masters in HRM or an MBA with a
bias in HR is added advantage.

·       
Membership to HR professional body such as
(MCIPD, SHRM, etc.)

·       
At Least 3 years of Generalist Human Resources
Experience.

·       
At least 2 years’ experience at speciality level
of the role.

·       
Industry and Banking business awareness.

·       
Leadership and managerial skills.

·       
Demonstrated exceptional communication skills
(verbal, written and presentation) at all levels.

·       
Excellent negotiation skills.

·       
Excellent problem solving and decision-making
skills.

·       
Good organisation skills.

·       
High degree of business and or professional
networks.

·       
Expert knowledge of the Uganda labour laws and
familiarity with the International Labour laws.

·       
Highly collaborative with people with the
ability to build relationships quickly.

·       
Influential to executives, colleagues and peers
coming from a “we” orientation.

·       
Can play “high and low”, operating at both a
strategic and tactical level, often and with ease.

·
