About US:
Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) is a
statutory body established by UNMA Act, 2012. The Act empowers UNMA to provide
for the control and development of technically sound and scientific
meteorological services in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Planner will primarily foster the
execution of UNMA’s Mandate through planning, management, monitoring and
evaluation of Authority programmes and projects
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Prepares and coordinates Authority work plans
and budgets
·
Prepares and reviews Authority Strategic Plans
and policies
·
Facilitates the formulation of development
projects
·
Prepares reports for projects funded by
Government of Uganda and Development Partners
·
Provides technical advice on matters related to
planning and budgeting
·
Produces budget performance reports.
·
Monitors and evaluates Implementation of
Authority plans, programmes and projects
·
Represents the Authority in different internal
or external budget meetings as will be required from time to time.
·
Performs any other duties as assigned by the
supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The ideal candidate for the Uganda National
Meteorological Authority (UNMA) Planner job must hold an Honours Bachelor’s
Degree in Economics or Statistics from a recognized Institution;
·
A minimum of three years of relevant working
experience obtained from a reputable organization serving as a planner.
·
Planning, organizing and coordinating the
operations of a Planning Unit
·
Project Management
·
Information Communication Technology (ICT)
·
Results orientated
·
Ethics and integrity
·
Concern for quality and standards
·
Accountability
·
Leadership and teamwork
·
Time management
·
Age: 30 years and above
