Products Ltd is a Ugandan personal care company based in Kampala, manufacturing
personal care products. Its brands include Movit, Radiant, Baby Junior, Skin
Guard, Pine and NAN. The company was founded in 1997, by Simpson Birungi as a
makeshift workshop in Namasuba, Wakiso District. In 1999 the first Movit
product, Herbal Baby Jelly, was put on the market. Over the years, Movit, the
company’s flagship name, has grown into one of Uganda’s top cosmetics brands
with distribution links in both East Africa and the COMESA regions. Other known
products from Movit include the Body Milk Lotion, Junior Petroleum Jelly, Movit
No base Relaxer and many more

Job Summary:  The Media Executive is responsible for all
executional aspects related to media and advertising. Working closely with the
PR, Media and Advertising manager, the Media and advertising executive is
responsible for planning, strategizing and execution of all media related work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Book and coordinate
Radio Talk shows and TV guest appearances to boost and promote the brand
activities and products by utilising the airtime as per the properties;

·       Organise and coordinate
Media Give away, by visiting media houses to increase visibility, awareness and
maintain good relations with the media houses;

·       Draft and circulate
media mentions to stations Movit advertises with  for the presenters to read them out to the
listeners/audience;

·       Ensure consistency in
Television, Radio and print advertisement through maintaining a good
communication ground with the media houses to create awareness for the brands
to the ideal customers;

·       Selection of media
properties that resonate with the MPL brands for partnership through proposal
assessment

·       Process the media
monitoring report for TV, Radio, Print and online to identify the media
properties fulfilling the contractual agreements through compiling media
reports;

·       Coordinate the
contractual process for media houses to maintain good relations with the
contracted stations by ensuring that contracts are made in time before expiry;

·       Offer media support to
the selected MPL activities by coordinating journalist for coverage to increase
mileage through brand visibility and exposure;

·       Lobby for free media
opportunities to cut down expenditure on the media through negotiations for
free space with partnering media houses.

·       Book and coordinate a
number of radio and Tv  guest shows by
Movit staff as agreed

·       Organise and coordinate
giveaways

·       Draft and circulate
media mentions to Tv and radio stations Movit advertises with

·       Continuous communication
with the media houses to keep abreast with the advertisements

·       Follow up on the Movit’s
advertisements on the different media houses to ensure conformity to the agreed
terms

·       Timely process the
different media houses contracts

·       Acquirement of a certain
number of free media coverage within a specific period, as agreed

·       Analytical Decisions

·       Operation Decisions

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal applicant
should have a  Bachelor’s Degree in Mass
Communication

·       CIM level 3

·       Computer literacy skills 

·       Knowledge of
professional standards

·       Writing skills

·       Behavioural
Competencies:

·       Communication skills

·       Team building

·       Ability to work under
pressure

·       Negotiation skills

·       At least three (3)
years’ experience in the previous grade.
