Job Summary:  The Geographic Information System (GIS)
Specialist will analyse spatial data through mapping software and designing
digital maps with geographic data and various other data sets for all project
sites for easy monitoring and location.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Design
digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.

·       
Perform
research and determine how datasets are being utilized as well as expand
existing datasets;

·       
Compile
geographic and demographic data from many sources and report on GIS data;

·       
Consult
with external stakeholders to access fieldwork, satellite and aerial imagery,
and maps;

·       
Produce
maps showing the distribution of various kinds of data, including project
location including farmers

·       
Build,
manipulate, and update databases;

·       
Analyse
and model relationships between geographic data sets;

·       
Operate
and maintain GIS system hardware, software, and peripherals;

·       
Present
information to clients and stakeholders in verbal or written format.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying,
Engineering or related field.

·       
A
Minimum of three (3) years’ of experience in a similar role

·       
Proficiency
with database programming languages such as SQL, etc

·       
Proficiency
with front end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and various
mapping languages.

·       
Experience
with mapping tools

·       
Experience
with GPS measuring tools.

·       
Outstanding
quantitative skill set.

·       
Attention
to detail and good problem-solving skills.

·       
Analytical
skills and Proactive work ethics.

·       
Excellent
written and verbal communication.

·       
Good
interpersonal skills.
