sustainable financial interventions in line with the country’s development
priorities.
Job Summary: The Corporate Affairs Officer will support
the Corporate Affairs team to implement the UDB Communication and Stakeholder
Engagement Strategy by implementing internal and external media-based
Communication plans. The Corporate Affairs Officer is responsible for promoting
andprotecting the company’s reputation by developing and executing media and
public relations strategies and plans for brand building/innovation, corporate
promotions, internal communications and corporate communications/affairs
initiatives using various media outlets in collaboration with the Corporate
Affairs team
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Prepare press releases, topical news items,
in-house publications and all materials meant for external engagements.
·
Regularly review trends in the Development
Finance sector space, publish relevant news articles, blogs and social media
articles to influence positive public opinion of UDB
·
Maintain positive relationships, network with
media industry players to influence pro-business publications and coverage
·
Prepare, format and submit media content for
publication in compliance with the UDB Brand guidelines
·
Source and maintain knowledge of publication
opportunities, market the Bank through online presence, organize Corporate
Affairs events such as press briefings, open days, tours and visits
·
Carry out daily reviews of business-related
stories and articles in the media, flag articles for actioning through
appropriate response to protect the Bank’s image
·
Prepare briefs, articles and press releases for
internal and external use in line with the Bank’s Communication policy
·
Collaborate with media houses to acquire
pro-business news lead
·
Write pro-business pieces, edit and review
company publications that positively position the Bank
·
Advertising review and media placements
·
Any other duties assigned by the Corporate
Affairs Manager
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The applicant must hold a Degree in Mass
Communication, Journalism or a related field
·
A related post-graduate qualification is an
added advantage.
·
Possession of membership with CIPR or CIM is an
added advantage
·
A minimum of five years of work experience in
Media and Public Relations
·
Must have produced content that has been published
by leading outlets
·
Understanding of or experience in the
Development Finance Sector is desirable
·
Strong writing skills
·
Must have a network of business journalists
·
Knowledge of use of Standard industry software
e.g. publisher
·
Understanding of digital media
·
Must have an eye for news
