About US:

Launched
in 2011, Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA) is a broad alliance of
civil society actors who are part of the struggle for food sovereignty and
agroecology in Africa. AFSA is registered in Uganda as a Continental Non-Governmental
Organisation with the following objectives; providing a forum for discussion
and analysis of food sovereignty challenges & policies and strengthening
and influencing support to agroecological food production systems and advocacy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Strategy
creation-Leverage on existing work done by the campaign team to refine
objectives and strategy for campaign implementation.

·       Campaign management-Take
leadership in active running of a continental campaign on agroeoology and
climate change.

·       Resource
mobilization-Contribute to raising resources to support the campaign
activities.

·       Communications-Enhance
and maintain visibility of the campaign within and beyond Africa.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal applicant must
hold a university degree or equivalent in social sciences, development studies,
project management or related field

·       Should demonstrate
experience and knowledge around African grassroots movements, events
organizing, and human rights

·       Experience managing
compaigns or multi-country

·       Ability to travel as
needed.

·       Strong communication and
writing skills.

·       creative, open to
experimentation and able to adopt to changing circumstances.

·       Proficiency in English.
French would be an added advantage.

·       Candidates should be 40
years and below.
