The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL)
is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act.
UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution network and all
the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme
Ltd. UEDCL monitors Umeme Ltd’s investment, distributes power in eight (8)
territories covering over 60 Districts operates the pole plant at Lugogo, and
executes some of the rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of
Energy and Mineral Resources.
Job Summary:  The Assistant Manager will plan, coordinate to
and monitor all the activities involved in the operations of the station.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
Prepare the station budget and activity
implementation plans and ensure adherence to.
Review and make recommendations for the
construction and maintenance of electrical lines according to company
Plan, authorize and carry out commercial survey
for new electrical lines.
Coordinate and Attend to all electrical related
complaints and maintain staff to customer, staff to-staff good relation ships
Promote and maintain availability of power
supply in conformity with the company’s specification and standards.
Promote and Coordinate safe, economical,
efficient and effective operation of electrical equipment/gadgets and power
Promote and enforce company policy on power
supply and adherence to safety measures.
Identify risks in the section and devise
mechanisms of mitigating them.
Prepare and submit periodic reports as required
and ad vice management on appropriate solution and steps to ad dress some of
the operational problems. Ensure accurate /Legal collection and total revenue
Increase in the customer base by regular
sensitizations. in line with set financial guidelines and procedures
Prudent Management and accountability for all
Company assets in your jurisdiction

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Business Administration (BBA), Electrical engineering or it’s equivalent from a
recognized university.
A diploma in electrical engineering is an
advantage -Professional Qualification At least Stage II, i.e ACCA, CPA
At least three years of experience in a
reputable public or private organization
Proficiency in handling of Sun system,
inspirational &Sun Vision, Financial Analytical Skills & Problem
solving Skills, should have good written communication skills.
Proven Track record of integrity & Work
ethics, committed team player who is result oriented
Knowledge of Electrical engineering will be an
added advantage
