About US:

Following the
signing of the Lusaka Ceasefire Agreement in July 1999 between the Democratic
Republic of the Congo (DRC) and five regional States (Angola, Namibia, Rwanda,
Uganda and Zimbabwe) in July 1999, the Security Council established the United
Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC) by
its resolution 1279 of 30 November 1999, initially to plan for the observation
of the ceasefire and disengagement of forces and maintain liaison with all
parties to the Ceasefire Agreement. Later in a series of resolutions, the
Council expanded the mandate of MONUC to the supervision of the implementation
of the Ceasefire Agreement and assigned multiple related additional tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Provide
Administrative support in the Office of Chief Centralised Warehouse Section;

·       
Coordinate
actions related to the administration of CWS’s human resource activities, e.g.,
recruitment, relocation, performance appraisal, and training. Ensure
consistency in the application of UN rules and procedures;

·       
Keep
track of status of recruitments for CWS;

·       
Provide
information and advice to staff members with respect to conditions of service,
duties and responsibilities, plus privileges and entitlements under the Staff
Rules and Regulations;

·       
Provide
Assistance in Monitoring CWS staffing table for both national and international
staff in coordination with OCSCM Administrative team. for various actions e.g.,
appointments, retirements, expiration of appointments, reassignments, transfers
and movement of staff;

·       
Assist
in organizing all administrative requirements with respect to Chief, CWS
official travel. Make travel arrangements and coordinate all administrative,
logistical and security requirements for the Chief, CWS and his/her team;

·       
Provide
assistance in managing the section’s Travel and training;

·       
Assist
in monitoring CWS’ budget in relation to expenses such as travel within and
outside the mission on official duty or training activities;

·       
Provide
assistance in monitoring CWS’ budget expenditures and recommend;

·       
Draft,
submit for review and approval routine correspondence such as Inter-Office Memoranda,
faxes, emails, SOPs, administrative circulars. Maintain a filing system in
Office of Chief CWS front office;

·       
When
working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-)governmental
counterparts, including Implementing Partners (IPs), the incumbent is strongly
encouraged to set aside dedicated time for capacity development through
coaching, mentoring and formal and on-the-job training;

·       
Performs
other related duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a degree level: Technical/Vocational diploma qualification
in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related area.

·       
A
minimum of three years of experience in administration, finance/budget, or
human resources.

·       
Area of
expertise: Administration and administrative assistance, Human resources
management and development, Other finance, economics and administration related
experience

·       
Area of
expertise details:

·       
Computer
skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft office applications, especially word, Excel
and Powerpoint.

·       
Proven
ability to be proactive and take initiative

·       
Multi-tasking,
innovative “out of the box” thinking, persistence, and efficiency

·       
Have
affinity with or interest in humanitarian relief, post-conflict situations,
volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development and the UN system;

·       
English
and French are the working languages of the United Nations/MONUSCO therefore
fluency in oral and written French and English is mandatory and Knowledge of
French is an asset.

·       
Driving
license: Yes
