Job Summary: The Quality Controller is responsible for
setting up, maintaining quality standards and facilitating ISO 22000 standards
certification for grain and nutrition operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitor the quality
aspects of raw, in-process and finished products and issuance of COA at
dispatch
· Prepare reports on each
test performed for measuring quality, quantity and composition
· Prepare graphs, charts and reports from test reports
· Maintain records of all tests carried out and retain samples for
specified period
· Guide in setting up of
quality standards and ensure production is maintained at such standards
· Compute formulas, percentages or production specific factors using
chemical and mathematical procedures
· Ensure quality of packaging material
· Perform quality control
analysis including tests and inspection of products and processes
· Sample and identify the
presence of any bacterial or non-desirable excess material using the laid out
standard procedures.
· Review and report the principle
causes of quality loss and non-conformance
· Perform quality control analysis including tests and inspection of
products and
processes
· Ensure all check sheets are correctly completed and
all non-compliance found have had the correct action taken and signed off
· Carry out regular audits on production
processes to affirm quality standards conformity and follow up on closure of
the NCR’s
· Arrange, coordinate and
participate in internal and external quality audits and trainings
· Actively support
company’s initiative to acquire ISO standards 22000 accreditation
· Actively support and be
part of the new products development program
· Establish, implement,
and review Quality policies, Quality objectives, documented procedures,
documents and records needed by the organization
· Maintain the corporate quality manual and
records
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate must
possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology or
Chemistry. He or she should have at least 3 (three) years working experience in
quality management in a busy food industry, preferably grain handling, coffee
factory or milling. He or she candidate must be knowledgeable in food safety
principles and Quality Audit.
· Furthermore, the ideal
candidate must have the ability to interpret chemical, microbiological and
physical results, carry out Data analysis, Record keeping, Training as well as
interacting with third parties on trainings and compliance matters
· The ideal candidate must
also have good leadership, planning communication and decision making skills.
