Job Summary:  The Marketing and Business Development
Officer’s responsibilities include conducting in-depth marketing research and
analysis to inform marketing and product positioning, identifying company
products and services that are under performing and presenting solutions for
improvement, developing new products and services based on market demands,
identifying and developing new markets, developing an indepth knowledge of
company offerings, pricing, and policies, and improving existing sales
proposals, as well as developing new business deals and pathways for expansion.
You should also ensure that the company is able to achieve revenue targets. To
be successful as a Marketing and Business Development Officer, you should be
adept at negotiating business deals and able to present sound business advice
to management for quality decision making that will benefit the company.
Ultimately, an exceptional Marketing and Business Development Officer should
have strong business acumen as well as demonstrate excellent management, communication,
marketing data analytics and analytical skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
Business Development Responsibilities:
·      
Developing and sustaining solid relationships
with company stakeholders and customers.
·      
Analysing customer feedback data to determine
whether customers are satisfied with company products and services.
·      
Recruiting, training, and guiding business
development and marketing staff.
·      
Providing insight into product development and
competitive positioning.
·      
Analysing financial data and developing
effective strategies to reduce business costs and increase company profits.
·      
Conducting market research to identify new
business opportunities.
·      
Collaborating with company executives to
determine the most viable, cost-effective approach to pursue new business
opportunities.
·      
Meeting with potential investors to present
company offerings and negotiate business deals.
·      
Contacting potential clients to establish
rapport and arrange meetings.
·      
Planning and overseeing new marketing
initiatives.
·      
Researching organizations and individuals to
find new opportunities.
·      
Increasing the value of current customers while
attracting new ones.
·      
Finding and developing new markets and improving
sales.
·      
Attending conferences, meetings, and industry
events.
·      
Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
·      
Developing goals for the marketing and
development team and business growth and ensuring they are met.
·      
Training personnel and helping team members
develop their skills.
Marketing and Sales Responsibilities:
·      
Developing a pricing strategy that maximizes
profits and market share but considers customer satisfaction.
·      
Identifying new customers.
·      
Supporting sales and lead generation efforts.
·      
Creating promotions with advertising managers.
·      
Understanding and developing budgets, including
expenditures, research and development appropriations, return-on-investment and
profit-loss projections.
·      
Compiling lists describing our organization’s
offerings.
·      
Developing and managing advertising campaigns.
·      
Organizing company conferences, trade shows, and
major events.
·      
Building brand awareness and positioning.
·      
Evaluating and maintaining a marketing strategy.
·      
Directing, planning and coordinating marketing
efforts.
·      
Communicating the marketing plan.
·      
Developing each marketing campaign from start to
finish.
·      
Researching demand for the organization’s
products and services.
·      
Evaluating competitors.
·      
Handling all social media platforms, web-based
platforms, public relations efforts, and content-based marketing
Database Marketing Responsibilities
·      
Manage technical and technology aspects of key
marketing system
·      
Daily work with marketing automation, CRM, data
services, google analytics and lead management methods
·      
Create, plan, implement and maintain marketing
KPIs
·      
Prepare and present KPIs on marketing and sales
activities
·      
Analyze marketing and sales data
·      
Develop monthly marketing data analytical
insights/reporting and make recommendations for improvement where required
·      
Monitor, manage and maintain data quality within
the marketing database
·      
Evaluate new technologies to improve and
optimize marketing and sales team performance



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·      
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Business Management or Administration, Marketing, Communications, Digital
Marketing, Data Analytics or related field. Master’s degree is a plus
·      
At least 7 years (5 years with a master’s
degree) of proven experience in strategic marketing, brand development and
management; and marketing campaign and events management. Similar role as a
Marketing and Business Development Officer with credible brands or organization
·      
Proficiency in social media, digital marketing,
technology; and professional training or relevant experience in graphic designs
or multimedia marketing is highly desirable
·      
Proficiency in the use of Marketing CRM
(Customer Relations Management) System and knowledge of relevant Microsoft
Office applications.
·      
Excellent marketing data training and skills,
analytical, problem-solving and management skills.
·      
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced
environment; and willingness to remain committed and loyal to the company and
to work and deliver under pressure including on holidays and extra hours on a
regular basis.
·      
The ability to travel as needed.
·      
Exceptional negotiation and decision-making
skills.
·      
Effective communication skills.
·      
Strong business acumen.
·      
Detail-oriented and keeping track of deadlines
and expectations
