Job Summary:    The Logistics Assistant is responsible for
procurement, vehicle/transport operation and managing all paperwork/records
related to the tracking of NRC assets and inventory at the field site.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that all procurement processes are in
compliance with Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and door requirements

·      
Through Agresso ,receive ,register and/or
prepare requisitions, check the correctness of Purchase Requisitions, raise
RFQs and purchase orders and update status reports.

·      
Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and
accurate delivery of goods, services and equipment.

·      
In Liaison with the requester receive supplies
and ensure that they are in good condition and accompanied with correct
documents.

·      
Update vendor list.

·      
Distribute/organize transport of material and
equipment according to procedures

·      
Coordinating with stores to collect relevant
documentation, collating and organizing documents in accordance with the NRC
procurement checklist.

·      
Complete adherence to all NRC policies and procedures
for procurement, ensuring transparency, well documented, and correct
procurement at all times, with solutions provided to procurement issues as they
arise

·      
Ensure that vehicles are used and maintained
according to Logistics Handbook and other NRC policies

·      
Plan, schedule and monitor transport of staff
and material/equipment according to demands and procedures

·      
ensure NRC vehicles are equipped with necessary
documents and equipment

·      
Filing of all vehicle records and reports

·      
Prepare requisitions for spare parts for
vehicles

·      
Closely Monitor fueling of vehicles and compile
monthly fuel analysis and consumption report for payment.

·      
Provide proper records of Receipts, Purchase
orders, Waybills and all other documents to the store clerk to receive stock
and assets

·      
Participant in monthly stock checks and report
to the Line Manager.

·      
Ensure items in stock are well arranged by
Stores Clerk for easy stock taking and issued in First in First out (FIFO)
basis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·      
The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council
(NRC) Logistics Assistant job must hold a Diploma in procurement/logistics .

·      
Bachelors degree in procurement/logistics will
be an added advantage.

·      
At least two years’ experience from working as a
logistician in a humanitarian/recovery context

·      
Experience with logistics systems and forms

·      
Previous experience from working with an NGO in
complex and volatile contexts

·      
Documented results related to the position’s
responsibilities

·      
Must be fluent in English, both written and
verbal

Personal Qualities

·      
Excellent organizational and time-management
skills

·      
Good communication skills

·      
Knowledge of logistics software or transport
management systems

·      
Strong sense of personal integrity and
commitment
