delivery organization. RHSP strives to improve the quality of life of the local
population through a combination of community based research, curative services
and prevention strategies in the district s of South central Uganda.
Job Summary: The Laboratory Technologist will be involved
in all Laboratory procedures in the RHSP Laboratory at Kalisizo Station. He/ She
will be required to conform to Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP)
guidelines. The RHSP laboratory does automated and/or manual assays in the
fields of chemistry, molecular biology, flow cytometry, hematology,
microbiology and serology. .
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform analytical work
for both research and clinical management purposes.
· Receipt and processing
of samples including long term archival.
· Do preventive and
scheduled maintenance of equipment
· Collection of different
types of samples including phlebotomy
· Write Standard Operating
Procedures
· Manage laboratory
logistic s
· Any other official duty
as may be assigned by management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal applicant must
hold a bachelor’s in Biomedical laboratory technology or related courses from a
recognized institution.
· At least 2 years of
experience in a clinical/research multi-disciplinary laboratory.
· Training in SLMTA,
Biosafety and Laboratory Quality Management System is an added advantage.
· Demonstrate skills in
professional code of conduct and ethics
· Self-motivated and able
to work under minimum supervision.
· Pleasant, social,
hardworking, flexible, with a spirit of team work/building.
