Job Title:  Finance and Administration Assistant

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

About US:

HEKS/EPER
is a Swiss based International NGO which focuses on the development of rural communities,
humanitarian aid and collaboration with the Churches while working in
partnership with local organizations to meet Country Programme objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Updates finance records regularly.

·       Ensures supporting documentation is attached on all vouchers.

·       Prepares monthly bank reconciliations

·       Conducts physical cash counts weekly and at the end of the month

·       Preparing monthly cash reconciliations

·       Prepares monthly tax returns based on the payroll.

·       Timely payment of PAYE, PIT, withholding tax and all relevant
statutory obligations

·       Follow up of outstanding staff advances and ensures timely
settlements.

·       Partner disbursement management

·       Budget preparation, review and management

·       Ensures an efficient filing system is in place.

·       Facilitate works permits, visa process and hotel reservation for
visitors.

·       Ensures proper usage and maintenance of vehicle in consultation with
the Driver

·       Ensures that office equipment is tagged, well maintained and operating
optimally

·       Maintains admin/finance relationship with external stakeholders

·       Supports Partner organizations in administration and financial matters if needed
and in coordination with his/her superior

·       Conduct regular monitoring visits to the Partner organisations.

·       Represent HEKS/EPER in the absence of the FAM at various meetings.

·       And other duties
as required by FAM and CD.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal applicant must
hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Financial management, Business
Administration, Economics or any related course

·       At least  one-year work experience with an INGO

·       Good IT skills including
experience using an Accounting software

·       Drivers licence

·        Diligent and trustworthy

·        excellent analytical skills

·        Good command of English

·        Good interpersonal skills and a team player
