Job Title:         Programme Officer

Organization: African Centre for Trade and
Development (ACTADE)

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

About US:

African Centre for Trade and Development (ACTADE) was registered
in 2003 as a Non- Government Organisation (S. 5914/ 4516) with the main purpose
of influencing and facilitating the development and promotion of trade, and
sustainable development. ACTADE’s programming covers the areas of trade
empowerment, inclusive budgeting and climate action.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Be responsible for Green Growth programming

·       
Participate in the development of quarterly and
annual work plans and budgets, and lead in project activity implementation.

·       
Support the documentation of best practices from
lessons learnt out of project implementation in the form of policy briefs,
analytical papers, newsletters and regular online platform updates.

·       
Develop activity concepts and seek approval
before implementation.

·       
Prepare activity reports on the work under your
jurisdiction.

·       
Mentor and coach volunteers/Interns.

·       
Participate in the mobilization of resources
required to implement ACTADE programmes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant must should hold or be pursuing a
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Social Sciences,
Information systems and Technology; Development Studies and project planning
and management.

·       
A relevant postgraduate qualification will be an
added advantage.

·       
Two to three years’ experience in program
planning and implementation.

·       
Previous experience working for development,
government or community-based organization will be looked at favorably.

·       
Ability to cultivate key relationships –
developing strategies and resources to influence, persuade and build the
confidence of the private sector, partners, program staff and other
stakeholders.

·       
Good conceptual abilities.

·       
Confident, self-motivated and innovative

·       
Good time management.

·       
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written
communication skills

·       
Fluency in English

·       
Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft
Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher), Internet, e-mail
and Social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.).

·       
A demonstrated interest in addressing climate
change is highly desirable.

·       
Age: between 25 and 45 years of age.
