Job Summary: The
Driver is responsible for transporting NRC staff, visitors, documents and
goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved within an
area, country or other location

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Generic Responsibilities

·      
Transport NRC staff, visitors, documents and
goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved

·      
Ensure the safety and security of the
passengers, the goods and the vehicle

·      
Immediately report accidents, breakdowns and
needs of repair and general maintenance /service

·      
Respect the local traffic regulations and the
NRC logistical/vehicle policies at all times

·      
Maintain the logbook for all trips

·      
Maintain the vehicle in proper operating
condition at all times, including keeping the vehicle clean, ensuring enough
fuel, checking the technical state etc

·      
In liaison with the line manager, arrange for
repairs and servicing

·      
Ensure the assigned vehicle has all the
necessary documents and equipment

·      
Provide logistical support during trainings and
workshops

Specific responsibilities

·      
Mapping out movement routes in  the camp and within the  operations area

·      
Maintain neatness of the vehicle interior and
exterior

·      
Reporting any accidental  incidences with an incidence report to the
line manager 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·      
The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council
(NRC) Driver job must hold a minimum of Senior four (O-Level qualification) is
required

·      
Valid driving permit –  DM class

·      
At least three years of experiences as a driver
in an INGO / large organization

·      
Training in defensive driving will be an
advantage 

·      
Very good command of English

·      
Knowledge of Kishwali and Runyakitara

·      
Personal qualities

·      
Ability to keep confidential information

·      
Communicate with impact and respect

·      
Respect for colleagues and community

·      
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to
work in a cross cultural team

·      
High level of integrity

·      
Ability to work independently under minimal
supervision
