Job Summary:  The Database Assistant will provide service in the day-to-day maintenance of the MEAL
systems database for the Nuyok project
and will support the project team and partners in its relevant Information and
Communication Technology for
Development (ICT4D) needs in support of the Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS)
mission to serve the poor and
vulnerable. Your service and technical skills will contribute to improving the project impact.

You will provide service in the day-to-day maintenance
delivery of responsive, effective and efficient project administrative activities
in support of the Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) mission to serve the poor and
vulnerable. You will provide consistent and high-quality service and contribute
to the proper stewardship of project resources to help ensure operational
effectiveness in support of high-quality programming.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·      
Maintain and help in the design and development
of the Nuyok database. Troubleshoot and communicate issues to contribute to
ensuring optimal performance.

·      
Provide technical support to requests from the
Nuyok staff team in relation to the MEAL systems database and ICT4D hardware,
software and associated peripherals;

·      
Log support requests and document their outcome
to facilitate the resolution of common queries;

·      
Proactively provide information to the teams on
the progress of outstanding support enquiries;

·      
Monitor the implementation processes to ensure
consistent uptake and utilization of the ICT4D system across sectors;

·      
Oversee and support the work of enumerators,
data entry clerks, and interns (when needed).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·      
The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree or equivalent experience in statistics, computer science, software
engineering, information management or a related field;

·      
Minimum of two years’ experience in database
management, ideally with an international NGO;

·      
Experience in creating data visualization
dashboards (e.g. Reporting services, Access, Zoho Reports, Dundas Dashboards,
PowerBI etc.);

·      
Proficiency in database management packages
(e.g. Microsoft Access and SQL Server);

·      
Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook) required.

·      
Strong analytical skills with focus on detail

·      
Ability to work effectively under stressful
conditions

·      
Good technical writing skills

·      
Presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring,
and coaching skills

·      
Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented

·      
Fluency in oral and written English with ability
to write technical reports required. Fluency in oral Karimojong preferred.
