Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Uganda is part of the LWF
World Service and we are currently supporting Congolese and South-Sudanese
refugees living in settlements in the districts of Kamwenge, Adjumani, Moyo,
Kyangwali and Lamwo respectively.

About Project:

To implement a Development Initiative for Northern Uganda-
Livelihood Enhancement for West Nile and Acholi (LEWA), LWF is leading a
consortium that consists of; Danish Church Aid (DCA), Uganda Protestant Medical
Bureau (UPMBU), and Mukwano Group of Companies (Muwano) and for a period of
thirty-six months (36), LEWA is proposed to cover the Acholi and West Nile Sub
Regions in the Districts of Lamwo, Adjumani, Moyo, Obongi, Arua, Yumbe, Madi-
Okollo, Maracha and Koboko.

Job Summary:  The Consortium Coordinator will be expected to
lead the implementation of LEWA on behalf of the Consortium members (LWF, DCA,
Mukwano and UPMB) providing leadership to the project and its activities,
oversee smooth implementation of the project through the members of the
Consortium in line with Donor’s procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures compliance with donor contract
requirements/ reporting deadlines etc. for all the assigned projects

·      
Takes lead in the coordination of all consortium
partners to ensure timely and quality achievement of the project goal and
objectives;

·      
Ensures that the Partners implement the project
as stipulated in their proposals and as per the work plans presented and ensure
that the spending rates of the project are commensurate with the project
spending plans;

·      
Develops partners’ project progress reporting;

·      
Ensures that partners provide monthly output
trackers, consolidates and provides monthly status updates on the Consortium’s
progress;

·      
Lead and manage the Programme Management Unit
(PMU) including grants, finance and MEAL functions;

·      
Ensures that the partners have sound financial
management in place as per the donor requirements;

·      
Liaises with EU to understand the financial
procedures and ensures compliance with EU financial regulations;

·      
Initiates and facilitates Steering Committee
meetings, drafting agendas to reflect priorities, challenges and opportunities
for the Consortium;

·      
Chairs the PMU meetings between partner
representatives, technical advisors, MEAL and support functions;

·      
Oversees development of the Consortium
communication/ advocacy, promote the use of Consortium-generated knowledge and
learning;

·      
Ensures close coordination with other agencies
and consortia that implement project activities in the same area.

·      
Represent equally all consortium partners in
different fora and attends any relevant coordination forum.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·      
The applicant should preferably hold a
University Degree in international relations, Dev’t Studies, business
administration; social sciences or related field;

·      
Five years of experience of successfully
managing and leading Consortia;

·      
Experience in advocacy & research &
influencing different donors and writing up high quality donor reports;

·      
A good understanding and experience of Uganda
context is an added advantage;

·      
Technical expertise and experience in
livelihoods and or in Nutrition is an advantage;

·      
High-level communication and people skills;

·      
Excellent writing skills and able to negotiate
effectively between different stakeholders;

·      
Extensive experience in representation and
networking, in particular with Government authorities, EU, humanitarian and
development actors;

·      
Demonstrated project, program experience,
including working with local/national government and partners and capacity
building of systems, partners and staff;
