Refugees and IDP’s in Africa in partnership with UNHCR the UN refugee agency.

Job Summary:    The Human Resource Officer will assist the
head office HR Department and the Sub Office manager in handling all personnel
related aspects in allocated regions according to AIRD SOP and Uganda labor
Laws.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Assist
in hiring activities by posting job opportunities by handling the communication
with shortlisted candidates, preparation of the interview venue, and
coordinating the interview program.

·       
Coordinate
and /or supervise time keeping activities; review leave balances for accuracy,
monitor staff medical issues and advise department heads about staff annual
leave.

·       
To
assist in the preparation, sorting and distribution of contracts, notifications
and any other written communication to the staff and ensure that the file copy
is returned and filed.

·       
To
ensure that all new staff have filled in all forms, and to ensure they have
provided all necessary documentation.

·       
To
ensure all new recruits have signed all necessary correspondences ie.
assignment letters, Code of conduct, job descriptions etc.

·       
Documenting
complaints and grievances and communicating them to management.

·       
Schedule
orientation sessions and prepare all necessities needed for initial orientation
to newly hired employees.

·       
Update
staffing database periodically and compiling employee records (hard and soft
copies)

·       
Sort and
file all documents from the field settlements under the sub office and ensure
that staff records comply with the SOP.

·       
Support
in all HR related clerical work i.e photocopying, scanning, printing, stamping
etc.

·       
Any
other assigned duties from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant
must hold a Bachelors’ degree in Human resources Management, Psychology or
Management or business studies with a major in Human Resource Management.

·       
Minimum
of 3 years relevant work experience in Human resource practice preferably in an
NGO.

·       
Experience
in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and
knowledge of spread sheet and database packages

·       
Strong
interpersonal and communication skills.

·       
Ability
to represent and report writing skills.

·       
Willingness
to work in any part of the country. 

·       
Ability
to work under pressure with minimum supervision
