About US:

The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda (DPF) is a Ugandan
government agency that provides deposit insurance to depositors in Ugandan
Banks, Credit Institutions and Microfinance Deposit-taking Institutions (MDIs).

Job Summary:   The Senior Officer – Accounts Operations will
carry out daily financial activities and functions including payments,
budgeting and reconciliations. Ensures all financial operations follow internal
policies statutory requirements and accounting standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Budget and payroll management.

·       
Process payments and keep records of the bills
paid.

·       
Enforce proper accounting methods, policies and
practices.

·       
Participate in the formulation and
implementation of financial controls to avoid errors and fraudulent practices.

·       
Preparation and submission of statutory returns
within stipulated deadlines.

·       
Ensures timely management of receivables and
payables and ensures that creditor terms are appropriately followed.

·       
Ensures compliance with statutory obligations
relating to taxation, NSSF, pension contributions and other statutory
requirements.

·       
Coordinates annual budgetary and reporting
processes in line with the strategic plan.

·       
Prepares periodic management reports and monitors
budget performance.

·       
Manages the payroll and ensures timely
reconciliations.

·       
Manages the imprest and maintains records.

·       
Maintains records of all financial transactions

·       
Performs periodic accounts reconciliations and
ensures timely reporting

·       
Prepares and monitors cash flow projections.

·       
Performs other work-related duties as assigned,
within your scope of practice.

Key Results:

·       
Timely and accurate payments

·       
An annual inventory of Fund’s assets and
liabilities.

·       
Accounting rules, amendments and supplements.

·       
Coordination of Fund budget activities.

·       
Monthly close process and other daily activities
(e.g. journal entries, accruals process, account reconciliations).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The ideal candidate for the Deposit Protection
Fund of Uganda (DPF) Senior Officer – Accounts Operations job placement must
hold a first-class or upper second-class bachelor’s degree in accounting,
finance, commerce, economics statistics, mathematics, business administration
or related field, from an accredited institution, is essential.

·       
3+ years of related experience in areas of
finance policies, practices and systems are essential.

·       
Professional accounting certification in
accounting such as ACCA, Certified Public Accountant (Uganda) or related field
is essential.

·       
Demonstrated proficiency of MS office packages
is desirable.
