Job Summary: The materials Management Officer reports to
the materials manager and is responsible for the day to day planning of all
maintenance material requirements to cover parts, tools, and expendable
materials.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure quality and quantity of aircraft spares, tools and other
    equipment used for aircraft maintenance is adequate for the operation;
  • Deliver serviceable aircraft/materials/components to the operation
    on time, in a cost-effective manner and in compliance with legal and
    company requirements;
  • Process procurement of materials and services required for the
    maintenance operation and ensure only parts from approved sources are
    obtained;
  • Provide inputs to the procurement department in terms of parts,
    equipment and tools procurement.
  • Control the inventory and ensure availability of spares to meet
    aircraft demands, whilst minimizing costs;
  • Periodically review reorder levels and quantities for all spares, on
    the basis of required Service Level, Forecast Demand and Lead Time; ensure
    timely replenishing of materials when the available quantity falls below
    reorder levels;
  • Control and monitor all the clearing agents in charge of the
    clearing and forwarding of company spares/materials;
  • Monitor supplier performance;
  • Ensure that adequate planning is done to ensure that no stock out
    levels are reached for parts.
  • Ensures accurate records are kept for all purchasing and logistics
    activities and inventories in compliance with all industry and Regulatory
    authority requirements;
  • Responsible for the implementation of safety management systems
    processes in line maintenance operations.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate must hold a  Degree or Diploma in procurement,
    materials, logistics, stores management;
  • Experience in Aviation procurement and or logistics management;
  • Knowledge of Technical Stores management and requirements ;
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge and skills in computerized
    software and programs; Conversant with the tendering and procurement
    process requirements.
