Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant /Driver will
support the supply chain and procurement process and coordinate timely travel
arrangement of both Action Against Hunger staff and goods in line with Action
Against Hunger procurement and travel guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·       
Plan, schedule and arrange vehicle movements
when needed to the fields office.

·       
Liaise and arrange for repairs and regular
maintenance of vehicles and motorcycles with Drivers and Logistics Officer.

·       
Pick quotations for services and good needed,
deliver official mails and other documents to approved destinations.

·       
Support the process of insurances for
motorcycles and vehicles as directed by the Logistics Officer

·       
Support proper documentation and filing of
documents relating to vehicles and travels ie insurance, logbooks, fuel
consumption and analysis, accident claims, repair and service records, etc.

·       
Drive staff and organizational visitors to a
given place while on official duties

·       
Conduct regular mechanical checks vehicles in
Kampala before any official travel movements.

·       
Report any incidents to the immediate supervisor
for decision-making.

·       
Support in supervising premises during repairs
as directed by the immediate supervisor

·       
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by
the supervisor

Fiscal Responsibility

·       
Support Logistics Officer to follow up all
payments (Procurements for Capital office and bases) submitted to finance and
endure copies are archived.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant must hold a Diploma in Logistics
and Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration or
any other equivalent area from a recognized university or institution.

·       
Three years of relevant driving and 1 year
logistics experience from a reputable organization (INGO) or institution with
clean driving record.

·       
Good driving skills in major towns especially in
Kampala is a must

·       
Valid driving permit. Class B, CM & DL with
training in defensive driving is a MUST

·       
Ability to do clerical work

·       
The ideal candidate must exhibit good use of
communication equipment and must be fluent in both written and spoken English.

·       
Professional computer skills, including MS Word,
Excel, and Outlook is required

·       
Good reporting skill

·       
Good communication skills, teamwork spirit.

·       
Ability to work independently with minimum
supervision.

·       
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to
support Logistics department

·       
Technical Knowledge of Toyota Land Cruiser and
Toyota Hilux Vehicles will be an added advantage
