About US:

M-KOPA Solar is the global
leader of “pay-as-you-go” systems. Since its commercial launch in
October 2012, M-KOPA has connected more than 700,000 homes in Kenya, Tanzania
and Uganda to solar power. In January 2019, M-KOPA extended its pay-as-you-go
solution to smartphones. The success of M-KOPA (M = mobile, KOPA = to borrow)
stems from making products affordable to low-income households on a pay-per-use
instalment plan. Customers acquire systems for a small deposit and then
purchase daily usage “credits”. After regular payments, customers own
their systems outright and can upgrade to more products.

Job Summary:  To
sell financed (pay-as-you-go) smart phones in the Kampala Region

Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Deliver against targets
for Phone sales

·       Recruit, train, coach,
mentor & supervise field-based scouts against targets and
use them to penetrate the Kampala area for Phone sales

·       Manage inventory assigned
and resolve audit recommendations in line with MKOPA audit resolution
guidelines

·       Uphold the values of
M-KOPA

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·       Sales experience, ideally
from micro-finance or other financial services, FMCG,

·       solar or other product/service in East Africa

·       At least Five years’
experience as a manager

·       Experience selling in a
competitive environment and effective territory
management skills are preferred

·       Must be willing and able
to travel extensively within assigned territory and work
evenings/weekends

·        Experience in coordinating promotions is
desired

·       Excellent negotiation,
communication and people’s skills

·       Good planning and organizational skills

·       Ability to work calmly
under pressure
