organization founded in 1987, formerly the Rakai Project.

Job Summary: The HIV Care & Treatment Officer  shall mentor and support district Health
workers in providing quality care and treatment services to HIV positive
clients and ensure achievement of treatment targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Provide technical assistance and mentorship for health
workers in HIV/AIDS care

·       Provide continuous clinical mentoring in all areas
including reporting for all related MoH reports

·       Support and participate in a Continuous Medical
Education (CME) programs for all staff Support coordination of health education
talks in HIV/AIDS related fields

·       Lead and strengthen quality improvement activities in
all HIV/AIDS related fields at all facilities

·       Support referral and linkages for clients receiving
care at supported facilities

·       Support roll out of treatment guidelines from MoH to
all facilities.

·       Support Health facilities to review weekly data on
linkage and those starting ART.

·       Coordinate and facilitate activities for expert
clients and linkage facilitators

·       Support DSDM models in all supported activities

·       Any other assigned duties in line with your role

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma in Clinical
Medicine and Community Health from a reputable institution.

·       Possess valid registration with the relevant licensing
body.

·       Ability to ride a motorcycle is a requirement with a
valid riding permit.

·       Willingness to work with Key populations like CSWs,
Long distance truck drivers, fisher folk without discrimination is required.

·       Working experience in a similar HIV care setting will
be an added advantage.

·       Willingness to work and reside in the rural community
of Butambala.

·       Good interpersonal, organizational and leadership
skills.

·       Fluent in Luganda which is the most commonly used
local language in the area of scope

·       Ability to work under minimum supervision.
