Job Summary: As an Engineering Stores Officer, they will
be in charge of receiving Uganda Airlines incoming spares, inspection, tagging,
segregating and shelving store items to regulatory requirements, and issuing of
spares to engineers for aircraft maintenance and promptly notifying the
Director of maintenance of the stock levels.

The stores’ officer
is also responsible for the control, operations, and administration of the
bonded stores, tools stores, flammable stores, and quarantine. He/ she ensures
the handling and storage of the aircraft spares, tooling & equipment,
consumables, and ingredients meet the requirements of an approved technical
store.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Receiving and issuing of all aircraft parts and materials;
  • The storage and bin allocation of parts and materials;
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained to meet the fleet
    requirement, as predetermined by the supervisor;
  • The recording and filing of approved spares documentation, including
    the incoming and outgoing documentation of spares and components;
  • Ensuring that only approved spares are entered into bonded stores on
    receipt of approved documentary evidence
  • Ensuring that all aircraft parts returned to stores for overhaul or
    repair are correctly labeled and certified before acceptance into
    quarantine stores;
  • Ensuring that all items removed from stores are accounted for by
    entries on the “spares issue record” form, and entered into the stock
    tracking and control program
  • Issuing monthly reports of all stock levels, receipts and issues,
  • Producing and maintaining an inventory of all tools and equipment
    held in Stores.
  • Evaluation of parts and material in conformity with type design,
    manufacturer specification, orders, compliance with the applicable
    regulatory requirements, physical state and accompanying documentation.
  • Regularly checking environmental conditions (i.e. Temperature,
    Humidity, etc.) under which materials are stored.
  • Materials and parts record control, including shelf-life monitoring
  • Proper storage of instruments, special tools.
  • Parts and materials requisition and issue control.
  • Segregation of parts and materials in the bonded stores
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a  Diploma or certificate in procurement,
    materials, logistics, stores management
  • At least two years’ experience in Technical stores and/or logistics
    management
  • Knowledge of Technical Stores management and requirements
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Experience in general and aviation technical store management.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, procedures in the storage,
    reception, issuing and dispatch of aircraft materials.
  • Technical Knowledge: The Stores Officer must have technical
    knowledge in handling the different types of materials, special materials,
    machinery, equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge of Dangerous goods and restricted articles will be an
    added advantage
  • The Stores Officer should be knowledgeable in stock taking,
    preparation of store records, inventory, etc.
  • Personal Qualities: Should possess personal qualities like honesty,
    integrity, pleasing personality, etc.
  • Knowledge of Incoming goods inspection
  • Experience in aviation tool calibration control experience.
  • Experience in Shelf life control.
