BeadforLife empowers women living in poverty to earn income
by creating jewelry from recycled paper beads. These beads educate people
around the world around the needs and conditions of those living in poverty.
Beadforlife creates sustainable opportunity for women to lift their families
out of extreme poverty by connecting people worldwide in a circle of exchange
that enriches everyone. We empower women to earn income through creating beads
from recycled paper, and to use their income and training to launch businesses
to sustain into the future and transform their lives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

General description
of the role

       
Supervise the BeadforLife inventory team

       
Oversee production and shipping schedules,
together with inventory Supervisor

       
Key point person for the US- BASED EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR

       
Oversee large partnership production strategies

       
Manage UG sales and partnership opportunities

       
Oversee Beadforlife’s brand presence and uphold
its integrity in Uganda

       
Manage Beadforlife budget together with the
inventory team

       
Lead member program development

Key duties

       
Supervise the inventory team

       
Inspire
inventory team by sharing big picture business acumen

       
 Schedule weekly inventory meetings

       
 Give timely feedback and monitor staff
performance

       
Manage production and shipping schedules

       
Direct
the production team and shipment schedules to reflect what has happened and
offer
solutions

       
 Ensure the highest quality end product to
reflect the integrity of the Beadforlife brand

       
Distribute
to Executive director, UG Operations Director and BeadforLife team.

       
Point Person for US Team

       
Primary
point person for Beadforlife Executive Director surrounding strategic business
plans

       
Ensure
mutual understanding of what we can deli
ver on.

       
Trouble
shoot production issues , seek advice and feedback, communicate with Executive
Director
around key decisions.

       
Provide
weekly updates to the production team and shipping schedule schedules , explain
changes and uphold budget adherence.

       
Oversee Large Partnership production strategies

       
Identify large partner opportunities and explore
ways to work together

       
Establish realistic schedules for tailor made
production for respective partners

       
Together
with the Inventory supervisor
, be the authority on product quality and
ensure that all products shipped to the US meet spec sheets and quality
standards.

       
Set
cost of Goods Sold- based on the price we should pay the women and the price of
supplies ,
allowing for contingency products . Use prototyping , time
trials, and consult with Bead for life team- US & UG

       
Manage UG sales and partnership opportunities

       
Act
as the point person for customers in Uganda and sometimes outside of the US

       
 Pursue sales opportunities and oversee
salesperson in Uganda

       
Create
new strategies for increasing shop sales- including working with tour groups

       
 Engage with BeadforLife visitors to leverage
opportunities

       
Oversee BeadforLife brand presence and uphold
its integrity in Uganda

       
Manage BeadforLife budget together with the
inventory team

Develop
annual inventory budget

·       
Analyze
budget verses actual on a monthly basis

·       
Develop
large partner project budgets and evaluate throughout project lifeline

       
Lead member program development

·       
Work
with the Executive Director Program Teams, Inventory Supervisor and US team to
develop
annual member enrollment schedule to ensure enough capacity for
product development

·       
Manage
relationships with alumni bead makers to ensure they are engaged and committed

·       
Explore
program potential together with the Executive Director

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The ideal applicant should at least a Bachelors
degree in a relevant

·       
Should have at least four  years of experience within the same field

·       
Must be fluent in  English

·       
IT skills: ,MS Office

·       
Excellent
communication skills

·       
Inspire
and motivate others to work towards
a common goal

·       
Strong
business acumen to uphold BeadforLife global goals

·       
The
ability to gather information from your team, the US team, and the program
teams, and
create a workable plan

·       
Some
experience with marketing / communications is helpful
