About UNRA:
The Uganda National
Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by the National Authority Act, No. 15 of
2006. UNRA became operational on 1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns.
Job Summary: The Risk Management Officer – Business
Continuity will be responsible for ensuring Continuity in UNRA’s business
processes before, during and after sudden occurrences that can cause damage to
UNRA Operations. The Officer will also
be responsible for the implementation and day to day functions related to
creating Business Continuity Plans and Procedures, while also coordinating
Disaster Recovery Operations within UNRA.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and Categorize risks that could cause a business
interruption and develop appropriate mitigation strategies - Implement and test recovery procedures in the event of a business
interruption. - Provide documentation, sensitize and train staff and stakeholders on
Contingency Planning concepts and procedures. - Develop and implement the BCM and DR program with organizational
objectives and structures in place - Participate and support emergency response and crisis management
communication planning in line with the organizational resilience. - Establish and Maintain risk appetite and metrics for operational
risk and monitoring of key risk indicators - Perform any other duties assigned by line manager
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA)
Risk Management Officer- Business Continuity job opportunity must hold an
Honors Degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Risk Management,
Economics, Business Administration, or any other related degree. - Certification in Business Continuity Management/ Risk management/
Audit/ Controls function would be an added advantage. - Membership with Risk Management Bodies e.g. Institute of Risk
Management, Business Continuity Institute, ISACA etc. is an added
advantage. - A minimum of two years’ experience in business continuity
management, disaster recovery, emergency response, risk management,
occupational health and safety and or business processes engineering. - Excellent interpersonal, particularly staff/management relations,
oral and written communication skills; - Strategic thinking and ability to work and produce accurate results
in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks; - Impeccable level of integrity.
