About the Job:
Palladium seeks Kampala—based staff for its newly awarded Uganda Health
Systems Strengthening (UHSS) Project. The purpose of the UHSS Project is to
strengthen Uganda’s health system through improved leadership and
accountability for results in public and private health sectors. All staff must
be fluent in written and spoken English and able and willing to travel
frequently within Uganda. Experience on USAID-funded contracts is highly
desired.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Operations Manager,
s/he will drive assigned project vehicle daily, as assigned and/or preapproved
by supervisor; including on scheduled field trips, project-related trips within
Uganda and other driving assignments as required. S/he will ensure cleanliness
of assigned vehicle, check assigned vehicle weekly to ensure that it is
operational and safe to drive, and fulfil project reporting requirements and
maintain records, including vehicle logs, vehicle routing, and vehicle
condition.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

Minimum of four (4) years of project driving experience
required; experience working for a U.S. company or NGO in Uganda preferred.
·
Valid Uganda driver‘s license and good driving
record required.
·
Experience driving up-country is required
·
Defensive driving or similar course completion
is required.
·
Certification in mechanics or automobile
maintenance preferred
