Duty
Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary: A Europe-based IT company
looking for project-based software programmers. Ideally, contractors selected
will be provided projects on ongoing basis, effectively full-time. Work will be
performed in local offices (Kampala) on IT infrastructure provided by us.
Key
Responsibilities and Tasks
·
Design,
develop and support business critical applications.
·
Follow
industry best-practice in software design and development to meet security,
regulatory and compliance controls.
·
Utilise
captured requirements to develop, change and maintain new and existing
software, in line with our policies, standards and procedures.
·
Team
Worker.
Education/Experience/Skills
·
1-3
years software development experience, ideally in Java or Microsoft .NET Core.
·
Knowledge
of IT systems and infrastructure, application design, website functionality and
web services.
·
Enthusiastic
with a passion for developing software, having great attention to detail.
·
Ability
to work under pressure in an environment with varying deadlines.
·
Systems
development life cycle (SDLC) – understanding
from concept to development, testing and post-implementation support.
·
Software
development methodologies, processes and tools (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
·
Continuous
Integration/Deployment.
·
Must
be able to read, write, speak and communicate in English.
·
Good
interpersonal skills.
·
Able
to articulate problems and resolutions.
·
Excellent
analytical skills (logical problem solving, asking right questions, comfortable
with Agile approach, adept at staging deliverables).
