poverty and injustice. We currently work in over 82 districts in Uganda
implementing projects in health & nutrition, water, sanitation &
hygiene (WASH), livelihoods & community resilience, education and child
protection. World Vision (WV) is committed to the protection of children and

Job Summary:  The Project Coordinator will be responsible for oversight
of WV’s project implementation of field livelihood activities, mainly focusing
upon farmer group capacity development in settlement. S/He will build the
capacity of the farmer groups through trainings and field follow up. S/He will
work closely with OPM and other actors in actively addressing farmer skills
development, production, processing and marketing issues. The Project
Coordinator also works closely with leadership structures of refugees and host
communities (Sub County Agricultural Officers, Community Development Officers,
LC, RWC, religious and traditional leaders) in regard to livelihoods. The
Project Coordinator under the direct supervision of Output Manager and
Resilience and Livelihood Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and
implementing the field activities under the project in the designated district.
S/He will report according to agreed project plans in line with donor and World
Vision Uganda (WVU) policies. Will be directly involved in the implementation
of project activities will be based in Arua, Adjumani and Moyo. Each will
supervise Project Officers.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

Project
Implementation and sustainability

·        
Develop annual project activity plans, updated
quarterly in collaboration with key departments and external stakeholders, and
oversee implementation to high standards by scope and timelines

·        
Mobilizes and guides the farmers to form
groups/Saving and Development Cluster i.e. establishing the leadership
structure, constitutions, by-laws, registration with the Community Development
Office

·        
Mobilizes Project officers to carry out the VSLA
and business skills trainings for the targeted beneficiaries’ groups and build
their capacity through mentoring and coaching.

·        
Organizing weekly field planning meetings with
Project officers to guide routine implementation

·        
Represent the Programme in Settlement livelihood
working group meetings

·        
Guides together with POs, Trainer of Trainers
farmer groups through long learning programs/activities.

·        
Plans for and implements project activities;

Stakeholders
Engagement, Networking and Collaboration

·        
Take overall lead in the coordination of field
level activities

·        
Facilitate the engagements of stakeholders
during planning and development meetings, workshops and other fora.

·        
Develop the farmer’s capacity to improve
production and productivity of selected enterprises of desired quality by the
market through demonstrations to farmer’s

·        
Organize quarterly review meetings for partners
and communities at project sites to reflect on programmes/projects approaches,
tools, impact of interventions, best practices, exit and sustainability
strategies as well as create spaces and opportunities for action-learning and
debate

·        
Ensure Integration of the project with other
Resilience and Livelihood on going activities including that of World Vision
and governments.

Documentation,
Reporting and knowledge management

·        
Writes and submits comprehensive monthly
progress reports, and specific activity reports, and any other reports when
necessary to his/her supervisor in a timely manner.

·        
Monthly and quarterly financial reporting,
including realization of activities versus budget utilization; (Providing
input) narrative and financial project reporting;

·        
Annual review of progress towards project
objectives;

·        
Take lead in documentation and sharing of
Impact/success stories and best practices to promote learning.

Community engagement
and advocacy

·        
Develop farmer’s capacity to improve production
and productivity of selected enterprises of desired quality by the market through
demonstrations to farmer’s

·        
Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of
stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops and other
fora.

·        
Coordinate partners in implementation of agreed
action plans.

·        
Ensure integration of project with other ongoing
Resilience and Livelihood activities including that of World Vision and
governments.

Child Protection and
Wellbeing

·        
Monitor the wellbeing and child abuse cases and
report any incidents in line with child protection policy and guidelines.

·        
Work with local leaders to protect children from
child violations and abuses

·        
Sensitize children including most vulnerable,
guardians/parents and other stakeholders about children’s rights and
responsibilities.

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·        
Minimum of Bachelors in Agriculture or
Agribusiness or Forestry or Development Studies or any other relevant
discipline. Experience in community work and engagement Agricultural, Economic
Development and Livelihood is and added advantage

·        
Climate Smart Agriculture, Entrepreneurship,
micro finance and strong agribusiness skills

·        
At least three years’ experience working with
vulnerable communities and familiarity with humanitarian programming and
implementation

·        
Minimum of 3-years professional work experience
in project management, Livelihoods and microfinance enterprise development

·        
Experience of data collection, collation,
analysis, and report writing

·        
Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature,
responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive

·        
Strong leadership, organizational and analytical
skills, and ability to work under pressure

·        
Excellent verbal and written skills in English

·        
Excellent computer skills, particularly with
Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets

·        
Track record demonstrating high integrity,
innovativeness, creativity, reliability and dependable

·        
Team player, Self-motivator, able to work with
limited supervision;

·        
Ability to drive a motorcycle with valid
driving/riding license

·        
Effective in written and verbal communication in
English. Ability to communicate in applicable local language(s) is an added
advantage.
