Job Summary:   The Driver is responsible for providing
reliable and safe driving services to the consortium team at ICCO office and
the MIRP programme.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provides reliable and safe driving services;
  • Ensure that ICCO vehicle is used only for official/authorized
    business as advised by the supervisor;
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on daily activities on log
    sheet including mileage, fuel consumption, destinations, and items in
    English;
  • Ensures the assigned vehicle is in good operating condition by
    performing minor maintenance tasks when necessary;
  • Ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed
    and reported;
  • Ensure that timely repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires,
    brakes and fueling the vehicle among others are carried out;
  • Ensure that the steps required by the local rules, regulations and
    the organization are taken in case of involvement in an accident;
  • Keep the assigned vehicle clean inside and outside;
  • Ensure ICCO’s policies and SOPs are followed by all passengers while
    driving (e.g. seatbelts, travel times, etc.);
  • Ensure the car is at a safe place at night and during holidays as
    will be agreed with the supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties within the incumbent’s capabilities as
    assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold an O’ level certificate from an accredited
    educational institution;
  • Certificate in auto mechanic is an added advantage.
  • At least two years of relevant experience as field driver preferably
    in an international organization; Skills:
  • Must possess a valid driving licence and substantial defensive
    driving skill;
  • Experience with NGOs as well as international organizations is an
    advantage;
  • Safe driving record, knowledge of driving rules and regulations and
    basic skills in mechanics
  • Good working knowledge of written and spoken English is essential
    and knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.
  • Competences needed:
  • Self-motivated, proactive and result driven;
  • Being an open and reliable person with high integrity;
  • Ability to work independently but at the same time being a team
    player;
  • Ability to connect with people of different backgrounds;
  • Ability to transfer skills;
  • Gender sensitive;
  • Affinity with ICCO’s and Act Church of Sweden values and operating
    principles.
