About US:
Sun Guru Ltd is a
Kampala-based renewable energy start-up, together with its international
partners, INTEGRATION environment & energy, Envidatec GmbH and the
Renewables Academy (RENAC), is currently establishing an effective office to
support the implementation of an exciting Skills Development programme on
behalf of the GIZ PREEEP programme and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals
Development (MEMD). The 3-year programme which has already been approved
commences on 01 December 2019.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and regular management of petty cash payment vouchers,
    re-imbursements, cash books and project control sheets, to be submitted to
    the financial supervisor for review and approval on a monthly basis
  • Generation of financial offers and reports, with attention to due
    diligence and accountability procedures
  • Management of multiple office and project-related expenditures and
  • Financial and budgetary planning, as well as forecast reporting to monitor
    efficient usage of resources
  • Routine documentation, filing, data management and tracking of all
    finances (both in physical and electronic formats)
  • Support to the development and monitoring of project-related work
    plans and performance in the delivery of services
  • Generation of project-related monitoring statistics, infographics
    and compact reports
  • Oversight of activities intended to create and harness teamwork in
    the business unit

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degrees in either; Business
    Administration, Secretarial Studies, Public Administration, Office and
    Information Management or any other related field
  • Eight years of experience in the financial administration of
    businesses or international projects
  • Strong inter-personal / people-skills, in international and
    multi-cultural contexts
  • Excellent English language skills. German language skills are an
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent book-keeping, documentation and project administration
  • Experienced in managing finances and expenditures in multiple
    foreign currencies
  • Proven experience in the application of procurement guidelines for
    goods and services
  • Experienced in the use of project control sheets and accounts
  • Basic Training in records management is desired
  • Experienced in MS Office applications, most importantly in MS Excel
    and MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of business processes, information policy, Client Service
  • Good time manager with a positive and flexible attitude to work
  • Excellent customer care, team-work and communication skills
  • Good planning and presentation skills, with an ability to organise
    and prepare meetings
  • Ability to apply creative skills, think outside of the box
  • Proven report writing skills
  • Prior experience of working in the international development context
    is an advantage
