Authority is a semi-Autonomous Agency under Ministry of Agriculture, Animal
industry and Fisheries (MAAIE). Dairy Development Authority was established
under the Dairy Industry Act of 1998. Dairy Development Authority’s Mission is
“To provide dairy development and regulatory services that will ensure
increased production and consumption of milk, sustainable and profitable dairy
industry sector that contribute to economic development and improved
nutritional standards in Uganda.”
Job Summary: The Dairy Inspector will inspect milk and milk
product export /imports /consignments to ensure compliance with dairy standards
and regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct milk and milk product export /import s to ensure conformity
to dairy standards and regulations. - Generate statistical data and information for development of
database on compliance and standards improvement strategies and policy
development/change. - Conduct regular inspection to prevent entry /exit of non-complying
milk and milk products. - Ensure that exports /imports have required /relevant documentation.
- Compile and submit to the Authority relevant reports and any other
required data/information in a timely manner. - Ensure that imports /exports are in line with the registration
requirements - Enforce dairy standards and regulations such as to entry or exit of
unauthorized dairy related consignments - Any other duties assigned to by your supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Honor’s Degree in Dairy Science &
Technology or; Honor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology or any
relevant Honour’s degree from a recognized university. - Post Graduate Qualification in a relevant field is added advantage.
- Two years of relevant working experience.
