About US:

Sun Guru Ltd is a
Kampala-based renewable energy start-up, together with its international
partners, INTEGRATION environment & energy, Envidatec GmbH and the
Renewables Academy (RENAC), is currently establishing an effective office to
support the implementation of an exciting Skills Development programme on
behalf of the GIZ PREEEP programme and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals
Development (MEMD). The 3-year programme which has already been approved
commences on 01 December 2019.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure daily maintenance checks of the vehicle
• Ensure vehicle is in sound condition for safe driving before setting
  off
• Maintain and develop schedules together with the office secretary,
  to ensure efficient trips and timely pick-up of passengers or goods
• Ensure all materials and equipment in the vehicle are properly
  safeguarded
• Ensure safety regulations i.e. wearing of seat belts, are adhered to
  by you and passengers at all times
• Ensure entrusted vehicle is taken to the approved garage when it is
  due for service
• Maintain the vehicle assigned to you in a clean and immaculate
  condition
• At all times, obey speed limits, highway code and all laws
  pertaining to road use
• Deliver materials and documents while ensuring that all receipts and
  delivery notes / invoices are duly signed and returned
• Maintain a vehicle log-book and ensure that all trips are duly
  recorded and signed
• Convey monthly vehicle status to the FAA or Secretary
• Ensure proper and safe parking of the vehicle
• Report mechanical malfunctions, accidents or thefts, immediately to
  the FAA or Secretary and whenever needed to the police
• Carry out any other official duties and errands, as assigned by the
  Secretary or FAA

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant must hold an Advanced Level Certificate of Education
  with a credit in English at O Level
• Confident communication skills in English
• A certificate in automobile mechanics is an added advantage
• A certificate in defensive driving from an established driving
  school/firm is an added advantage
• Seven years of driving experience (including long-distance), with
  clean driving record of not less than 3 years
• Prior experience of working in the context of international projects
  e.g. with an INGO
• Possession of two or more classes of driving permit is preferred;
  DL, CM and CH classes are preferred
• Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural
  contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship
  conditions with limited resources
• Family-base in both Kampala and/or Gulu, Arua or Moyo an advantage
• Ability to speak Luo, Madi or Alur an advantage
