Job Title:       Director of Finance

solar home systems, appliances and services to people mainly in rural areas.

Job Summary: The Director of Finance
will play the very important role of overall financial management. You will develop
and ensure the implementation of financial strategies, as well as advise,
support and inform decisions at all levels. The tasks include but are not
limited to: budgeting, controlling, forecasting, managing debt, improving
revenue and maintaining a healthy financial position to enhance the confidence
of all stakeholders.

The duty
station for this role is at head office in Kampala, although one may be
required to travel upcountry from time to time. This Function is part of the
Village Power Uganda top management team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·      
Directing financial planning & strategy

·      
Analyzing complex financial data

·      
Setting financial targets

·      
Analyzing and reporting on financial performance

·      
Developing and ensuring the implementation of
customer centric accounting processes

·      
Overseeing audits

·      
Ensuring tax compliance

·      
Ensuring compliance to accounting regulations

·      
Preparing forecasts and comprehensive budgets

·      
Reviewing department budgets

·      
Providing the organization with an efficient
administrative framework

·      
Managing internal controls

·      
Overseeing credit management and the
Pay-as-you-go platform

·      
Assessing, managing and minimizing risk

·      
Overseeing procurement & company imports

·      
Training and supporting the finance and
administration team

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·      
A qualified professional with proven financial
management experience of at least 5years+ and an understanding of the above
essential duties & responsibilities

·      
Certification in a professional course such as
ACCA or CPA

·      
Proficiency in accounting software

·      
Strategic acumen

·      
Strong numerical and analytical skills

·      
Broad knowledge of accounting principles

·      
Ability to effectively communicate complex
financial data and information to non-financial expertise

·      
High attention to detail and accuracy

·      
Solar industry and or micro finance knowledge
would be of advantage

·      
 A high
degree of integrity, growth orientation, hunger for results, simplicity, customer
centricity as well as an appreciation for a fun and positive working
environment.
