About UNRA:

The Uganda National
Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by the National Authority Act, No. 15 of
2006. UNRA became operational on 1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To conduct internal investigations of compliance issues, i.e.
    ethical or disciplinary misconduct by staff.
  • File appropriate compliance investigative reports with
    recommendations to the Manager for further disciplinary actions.
  • Cooperate with other directorates and departments of Audit and Human
    Resource to carry out monitoring and evaluation programs and compliance
    reviews in all stations.
  • Maintain documentation/Records of all compliance activities such as
    complaints, investigative files, Administrative files and other
    correspondences.
  • Should provide training to the staff on compliance related topics
    e.g. Code of Conduct, ethics, Policies, Procedures and General Security.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned to him/her from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA)
    Compliance Officer placement opportunity must hold an Honors Degree in
    Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or relevant field
  • A Master’s Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business
    Administration or relevant field is an added advantage;
  • Any other post graduate qualifications in the relevant field are an
    added advantage;
  • At least three years’ experience in a related field.
  • Computer literacy is a must.
  • Familiarity with compliance management, operational, legal,
    financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and
    regulations.
  • High level of integrity;
  • Proven track record of outstanding performance;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to develop subordinates;
  • Excellent interpersonal, particularly staff/management relations;
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with
    multiple and challenging tasks.
