Job Summary:  The Senior Manager MTN Foundation will support
the General Manager Corporate Services, in the day to day execution of the
Corporate Affairs department’s duties, in order to strengthen the MTN Uganda
reputation as a responsible corporate citizen through running of the MTN
Foundation and other CSR activities as well as ensuring that these activities
are leveraged to further validate MTN Uganda’s commitment to be a responsible
Corporate citizen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and propose Innovative, Impactful and Sustainable CSR
    initiatives
  • Manage the implementation of MTN Foundation and MTN Group CSR
    activities and projects
  • Develop quarterly reports for MTN Foundation and MTN Group CSR
    activities and projects
  • Spear- head internal and Group staff CSR activities; planning,
    organization and execution of initiatives for instance 21 Days of  Y’ello Care and other CSR initiatives
  • Organize and prepare for MTN Foundation Trustee and FEXCO meetings
    including preparation of board packs and circulation of  minutes
  • Receive and vet sponsorship proposals for consideration by FEXCO and
    MTN Foundation trustees
  • Manage MTN Foundation stakeholders and protocol
  • Manage the archiving of all CSR/Foundation material for the company
    through a centralized data base
  • Ensure publicity of MTN Uganda’s CSR and Foundation activities as
    per the approved strategy.
  • Implementation of MTN Foundation projects in a timely manner as per
    agreed guidelines
  • Support Sustainability Reporting for MTN Group

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the MTN Uganda Senior Manager MTN
    Foundation job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant
    field
  • Certification Project Planning and Management
  • Five to seven  years’
    experience in planning, management and execution of social corporate
    investment projects
  • Project Management
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Basic knowledge in sustainable development issues would be an added
    advantage.
  • General business knowledge as well as knowledge of business
    processes.
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry.
  • Administrative management skills
  • Team work
  • Multi-tasking
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to listen and observe
  • Written   and verbal
    communication
  • At ease with parties and various stakeholders and able to develop
    and retain contacts   in Government,
    Internal and External stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the social, political   and economic dynamics of the country.
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills coupled with basic
    knowledge in company law and legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to
    effectively influence   actions and
    opinions of others; Inspire respect and trust
  • A professional manner that will reflect positively on both internal
    and   external stakeholders and
    various operating companies
