About US:

The Uganda Development
Corporation (UDC) was set up by the Uganda Development Corporation Act 2016 as
the investment arm of Government with the primary objective of facilitating
industrial and economic development of the country.  This objective is met through;
establishment of subsidiary and associated companies, entering into public
private partnerships with any commercial, industrial or agricultural
undertaking or enterprises, assisting in financing and management of
undertakings promoting industrial or economic development; and promoting and
facilitating research into industrial development,

Job Summary: To provide support on matters pertaining to
agro-industry value addition technologies of investments/ projects that the
corporation may be involved in or is interested in pursuing

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

·        
Provide technical review analysis reports of
prospective agro-industry affiliated investment project proposals through the
provision of exhaustive technical review input as regards the viability of
undertaking the identified agro-industry affiliated investment projects.

·        
Draft TORS for prospective consultants that
would be hired or approved to conduct agro-industry affiliated baseline studies
and consultancies.

·        
Undertake the effective monitoring and
evaluation of ongoing investment projects through the provision of related
progress reports.

·        
Actively participate in drives aimed at
promoting the fostering of linkages and liaisons with relevant stakeholders
with an objective of promoting the development and increased investment along
Uganda’s numerous agro-industry value chains.

·        
Draft monthly progressive/update reports on the
implementation progress of allocated agro-industry affiliated investment
projects.

·        
Any other related duties as may be required by
the organization.

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·        
Bachelor’s degree in the fields of
agro-industry/value addition technologies or their equivalents from reputable
academic institutions,

·        
Additional qualifications in agribusiness,
project planning and management or their equivalents will be an added
advantage.

·        
Master’s degree in Agribusiness, Food science or
related fields, is an added advantage.

·        
At least 4 years’ experience in fields
associated with the promotion of value addition along the numerous
agro-industry value chains in

·        
Proficiency in computer application skills.

·        
Strong analytical skills.

·        
Strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.

·        
High level of integrity.

·        
Ability to organise own time independently and
work with a high level of initiative.

·        
Willingness to travel across the country.
