International has been implementing projects in Uganda for over two decades focusing
mainly on health and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihood and
environment.
Job Summary: The Project
Assistant (m/f/d) supports the Project Coordinator in the timely, efficient and
effective implementation of MI projects in accordance with the project’s
proposal and LogFrame.
Key Duties and Responsibilties:
WASH
·
Assess
support requirements against project objectives and operating environment
·
Supervise
and direct the work of the plumbers. Set up maintenance systems, train staff
and arrange repairs
·
Ensure
regular samples are taken and analysed for water quality analysis and advise on
actions taken
·
Contribute
to the planning and design of water supply schemes and other hardware
·
Support
in reporting of project progress and in reaction of donor, internal and other
reports, as well as in the elaboration of monthly reports
·
Assist
in preparation of BoQs and RFQs related to WASH in close collaboration with the
Logistics Officer
·
Assist
in the supervision of construction activities, conduct field inspections, site
assessments and closely monitor construction progress
·
Prepare
and organise trainings and workshops in the field of WASH and ensure their
smooth implementation
Health,
Livelihoods, Environment and FNS
·
Coordinate
and monitor the implementation of livelihood, FNS, environment and health
activities according to the objectives, indicators, work plan and approved
budget
·
Take a
lead in the implementation of health projects specifically act as the focal
point for menstrual health hygiene promotion
·
Assist
in planning and implementation of distributions and activities in other sectors
such as
·
FNS,
Livelihoods and environment
·
Track
the progress of activities, ensure the collecting of program indicators and
provide information for on-time monthly and donor reports, in close collaboration
with the MEAL Coordinator and Project Coordinator
·
Prepare
and Organize trainings and workshops for PoC in the fields of livelihood,
environment and health to ensure their smooth implementation
General Duties:
·
Represent
MI in relevant clusters, donors and other humanitarian coordination mechanisms
on request and in close coordination with the Project Coordinator
·
Reports
on a weekly basis and compile monthly and donor reports for all activities in
collaboration with programs and support staff
·
In
close collaboration with the MEAL Coordinator, ensure beneficiary feedback is
addressed on a monthly basis and ensure community response mechanism is in
place and adhered to
·
Ensure
regular collection and elaboration of information for communication purposes
and public relations
·
Carry
out any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisors or the regional
office
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
·
Bachelor’s
degree in Degree in Civil and construction engineering, Water Resources
Engineering, Public/ Environmental Health from a recognized university
·
Minimum
3 years’ professional experience in WASH implementation including water system construction
and WASH governance, project implementation in both humanitarian and development
contexts with reputable INGO
·
Prior
experience in project management is an added advantage
