CRS has worked in Uganda since 1965, initially providing
emergency assistance to Sudanese
refugees living in the north. Over the years, CRS has expanded its programming
to also address development needs in western, central and eastern Uganda. CRS’
projects in Uganda currently include agriculture, health, microfinance,
peacebuilding and youth. CRS Uganda implements its programs through partnerships
with local organizations, including the Catholic Church, other faith-based
organizations and community entities for maximum impact and sustainability.

Background:

CRS is leading a consortium of 7 implementing and technical
partners to run a five-year, $35
million USAID/FFP funded program called Nuyok to build resilience to shocks,
enhance livelihoods through improved food security and nutrition and promote
maternal and child health for vulnerable rural families in four districts of
Karamoja – Abim, Nakapiripirit, Nabilatuk and Napak – which are home to 406,880
people living in an estimated 58,126 households. Nuyok seeks to strengthen
governance and gender equity, community capacity to manage shocks and stresses,
traditional and diversified livelihood opportunities and nutrition and health
(including improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)) of pregnant and
lactating women, adolescent girls and children under five years of age.

Job Summary:

·        
You will provide service in the day-to-day
delivery of responsive, effective and efficient administrative support to assist program implementation
and technical support teams in support of the Catholic Relief

·        
Services’ (CRS) mission to serve the poor and
vulnerable. You will provide consistent and high-quality service and contribute to the proper stewardship of program resources
to help ensure operational effectiveness in support of high-quality
programming.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

·        
Support program managers in planning and
preparing for workshops and meetings including raising purchase, travel and catering requests and sending out
invitation letters for District and other stake holder participants.

·        
Provide general assistance during workshops,
meetings and trainings – set-up and breakdown the meeting room, proof-read and format documents, print and photo-copy
training materials, track attendance, respond to participant’s needs during the
training.

·        
Compile and consolidate information recorded on
flip-charts and other workshop documents.

·        
Take notes during workshops and meetings

·        
Work with the Administrative support unit to
assist with travel and logistics arrangements for staff and visitors engaged in programming-related events.

·        
 Ensure
all program/workshop materials are properly stored.

·        
 Assist in
posting and organizing content on the CRS Uganda SharePoint.

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·        
The
ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in secretarial or office
management.

·        
Two years’ experience working in an office
environment in a clerical or administrative role.

·        
Experience with a local or international NGO a
plus.

·        
Additional education may substitute for some
experience.

·        
 Experience with typing/word processing, data
entry into online databases and forms, and working with various office equipment.

·        
Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint).

·        
 Good time
management skills with ability to work on multiple tasks

·        
 Strong
customer service orientation with good communication and interpersonal skills

·        
Proactive, resourceful, solutions oriented and
results-oriented

·        
Good written and spoken English
